Discover lovely things produced in East Midlands

The East Midlands brings us Stilton, Red Leicester, Lincolnshire sausage, and the famous Bakewell pie. As well as being long associated with manufacturing and industry, factories and textile mills. Counties in the East Midlands are Lincolnshire, Northamptonshire, Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire and Leicestershire.

Stilton is a world famous cheese, protected by PDO status. It is produced in three counties in the West Midlands. Nottingham shire, Derbyshire and Leicestershire.

The village of Stilton however, doesn’t produce any cheese! It is in Cambridgeshire – where every year in May, the village hosts the traditional cheese rolling festival.

Stilton is a “protected name” cheese (PDO) and by law can only be made in the counties of Derbyshire, Leicestershire, Nottinghamshire.

If you love the delicious hard, crumbly creamy complex flavours of Stilton cheese, buy it directly from the producers website or check for stockists.
